Whats the difference between having a speaker component ( 5 1/4 )s  + amp        and  a normal 5 1/4 speaker + amp ..   is it more sound quality or more SPL ..  what other differences ?

To state it quickly: you can usually get better imaging from component sets because you can place the tweeter in a different spot then the woofer. They have an outboard crossover which allows the drivers (tweeter and woofer) to be more effecient and therefore hanlde more power then coaxials. Some component sets are 3 ways and come with a woofer, midrange, and tweeter which gives you even better frequency response also.

After hearing the sound quality between a coaxial and components, I'd never buy another pair of coaxials. Components are absolutely the way to go when amplifying by an amplifier and not the hu.
