I have a Pioneer DEHP4650 HU, JBL GTO4000 amp, factory fitted speakers, and a Pioneer 12" sub, this is in a Mitsubishi Magna. At the moment the sub is pulsating both randomly and sometimes on a regular beat, even with the volume control right down or on mute. I have adjusted the gain and the ground connection but it is still having fits every now and then. I was just wondering what could be the problem, and most importantly, how to fix it.

Sounds like you may have blowenthe grounds off your rca's (probably in the deck) check by temporarily attaching a ground to the shield (outside) of rca at amp, if thumping goes away then find where and you the ground blew off.

As mentioned I would start by checking for bad rcas or a bad connection on the rcas.. Good luck,
Mike
