Phoenix Gold Ti6 CompElites?

Hey everybody,
I am in the lucky position to buy another pair of components for my new(er) jeep Cherokee. I have an Alpine MRV540, 4-Channel amp for my interiors. I've been looking for a pair of components and the Phoenix Gold Ti6CompElite's really jumped out at me. My question is if my amp will have sufficient power to run these speakers that have a claimed rms of 300W. I think my amp has a claimed rms of 160(?)w@4ohms, but it has the bridging capability of I think 200w. I'm not sure about this though and I would appreciate anyone who could give me advice on if it's a good idea or not. My second choice are the Infinity Perfect 6.5" components. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

  It will "run" them, but obviously not to their full potential. If you want to dedicate your amp to only these speakers, that would be the way to go..

 I am a lover of PG's high end equipment, but my question to you is this- Have you listened to MB Quart's Q line?

I've heard of the Q line, I've researched the Q line, and actually I'm also thinking of buying the MB Quart Q's. I see they have 90w rms, and that they're the sh*te, so I haven't eliminated them from possibility. Now that I've heard some feedback on the Q's, maybe they would be a better idea? Any advice would be well appreciated. Thanks!

 I'm running the Q's in my Silverado ext. cab, and will soon be buying 1 set of components and 2 sets of coaxials for my tahoe. I've heard quite a few brands (not Focal though - no dealer for 300 miles) and I won't buy anything else (well, If I listened to something that sounded better I might   .)

That's just my opinion though. Don't take it as gospel.

I have heard of focals, but the only thing I know about them is they're really expensive and really are focused towards competition; if that's correct. After a careful review of the MB's Q line, I'm seriously considering getting those instead of the PG's. But I'm curious, are the the Q's very enclosure-specific speakers that need specific volumes in order not to distort and tear themselves up? Or is it pretty safe to assume the mid's would be okay in the doors of my Cherokee? Thanks for your input!

I've had mine in the doors of my truck with no enclosure for 2 years now, and haven't had a single problem. You may want to cover them with a foam baffle to protect them from any water that may leak in. Spraying the baffle with RF noise killer, or not using the baffle and making a "cup" out of Dynomat (or Brownbread or similar) will increase the efficiency of the speaker by reducing the amount of vibration that occurs during normal use of the speaker.

These speakers do not require an enclsoure to perform. The main reason for any type of distortion that you will get f you use these speakers will be if you do not properly match your amplifier power to the speakers.
