You're kidding, right?  Perhaps Sirius or XM satelite radio...

I'm not kidding.  I know that some radios have better reception in canyon areas.  An old Consumer Reports listed an old Jensen model as one they recommend in canyons.  I want to listen to my local stations, not go with satelite stations.  My present radio just bit the dust and I don't want to waste my money on something that just gives me static. I'd like a CD option also, if that is available.

Sorry, I simply mean that no radio will give you THAT good reception in a canyon.  But yes, you're right, some heads have much better receiption than others.  Look for high sensitivity and FM rejection numbers when comparing FM performance.  Blaupunkt and Pioneer seem to have good FM performance.  Some of the higher end systems actually suffer in FM performance since this is not considered an audiophile source.  Probably the best thing you could do to improve FM reception is to add an aftermarket amplified antenna to your vehicle.

Blaus have very good tuning sensetivity and i know the Monte Carlo has a user definable tuning sensetivity adjustment.... great for those who live in a big city or those who cruise the canyons.....

I should have stated that this is for a '94 Toyota Pickup (22RE 4X4).  Will the Monte Carlo fit in this truck?  Are all Monte Carlos alike?  I have seen ones listed as MP34 or CD34, with different specifications.  What type of amplified antennae do you recommend?  Ones I've tried in the past only amplified the noise.

Crutchfield.com has a good price on the Blaupunkt Orlando. It has their DigiCeiver tuner which is supposed to be good. It is a nice cd player also. It should fit in your truck fine.
