You can't beat these Titaniums for the price. I just bought a pair and they are great. I'm thinking of buying a second set.

I reccomend Eclipse aluminums. They go for $259 each for the 12" version on that same website, but say good bye to the warranty and tech support.

Infinity kappa perfect, and the alpine type Rs will work good in pairs. if you got 1 diamond audio tdx dvc 2ohm it would run nicely with 1100wrms

There is a box about 1/3 of the wy down the page that asks you if you want 4 ohm DVC or SVC. 2 dual 4 ohm subs wired in parallel = 1 ohm load on amp.

It says they SOLD out THE DVC

Where does it say that? And cbrstereo.com supposedly has a warranty... kind off, on their products. If your product is found to have a manufacturing error then... never mind just read this page if you're interested.

Is your amp a stereo amp or a mono amp? if it is a stereo amp, you need two 4 ohm woofers. 4 ohms in parallel with 4 ohm equals 2 ohms, bridgd to the amp IS one ohm... PER CHANNEL. if it is a mono amp, then, yeah, you gotta keep lookin for DVC 4 ohm woofers, but may I suggest these? I think you'll be very happy with them run with 500 watts each...

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

MY amp is the Memphis 16-MC-1000D which im running it at 1 ohm, that why i was looking at dvc 4 ohms..

the ones you suggested me are the eclipse, i know they are really good but also really $$$, which now I dont want to spend that much..

The Eclipse aluminum dvc subs are just amazing, another close contender is the very similar Lightning Audio Strike aluminum subs, S3.12.vc2. If you can't quite stretch for the Eclipse, I have had great results with the Lightning subs.

Well, the Kicker is a great sub for SPL but is a moderate performer for every day SQ. The Storm subs are an entirely different hockey game, designed for some serious hardcore use, they are a step up from the Strike series. The Strike aluminum subs like I said sound great, work in either a small sealed enclosure of a large ported enclosure. We have one VW GTI that consistently hits in the mid 140's with these subs in a ported box and it sounds just fine. However they still do not compare to the Eclipse aluminum subs, save a couple of extra beans and buy the Eclipse.

Guys WHat would be the difference between a 15" subs with 500W rms and a 12" sub with the same RMs 500W

3"?  posted_image  Sorry, couldn't resist..  Don't get hung up on power ratings as they mean very little to how a speaker will sound.  In general, a 15" loudspeaker driver will have more authority and generate more SPL at the lowest frequencies than a 12" from the same manufacturer.  It will also tend to be "flabbier" and not sound as tight, especially in the higher ranges.  But that is also a function of the enclosure design and the intended application and lots of other design and installation factors, so it is not a generally true statement.  Also, if you're talking about a 15" loudspeaker from Brand A and a 12" from Brand B, you cannot acurately compare them based on cone size or printed specs.  You have to compare them side by side with the same amplifier and similar enclosures to really see any  differences.  And there are plenty of 12" drivers out there that will outperform some 15" drivers...

Yes, Eclipse drivers do cost about that much.  But remember that you almost always get what you pay for!  They are about in the middle of the price spectrum, though, as you could spend a lot more than that on high quality speakers.

How much do you want to spend?

SPL eh?  Two 12" DVC 4-ohm drivers that can handle the power from your amp at 1100 watts, eh?  $500 eh?  Buy a pair of these Kove drivers from Parts Express and have a ported enclosure built for them.  Pound, baby, pound!

Good eye spotting that one, DYohn.  If that doesn't fit the bill, I don't know what will!

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Kove speakers are quite good for SPL applications.  The ones PE has available are a buy-out from the 2000-02 model design and are perfect for your application, IMO.

OK, I will defenely get those.,,. THANK YOU FOR YOUR BIG HELP I WAS CONFUSED WHICH ONE TO GET<
now i was reading the description where coul di get a a 2.75 cu. ft. vented box with a 5" diameter port 13" long . that's why it said to used,

what would be the difference is i used a sealed or a vented.

My recomendation is to go to a shop in your area and have an enclosure built to the right size specs that will properly fit into your vehicle.  That's the best way to go.  There are enclosures available for mail order, but by the time you pay for the "box" and the shipping you end up close to what a local shop would charge you.  Plus, by patronizing your local shops you will generally get better build quality and a local warranty, you'll create a relationship with pros in your area that can really help you out in the long run, and you can be sure it fits into your vehicle.

In general the difference between sealed and ported is sealed is more musical and creates higher SQ while ported is more boomy at specific (tuning) frequency and creates higher SPL for the same power input.  This is a gross generalization and not always true, but will give you an idea of the difference.
