i need to put a capacitor in my system does it just go in the line to the power supply to the amp.

hi

this going to show how limited my electrical knowledge is but the above drawing shows the cap as if its tee off the main power cable or is this just the way its draw and its realy in a stright line

It is really in a straight line. You should cut your main power cable 18" or less from your amp and then put a ring terminal on either end. Then connect both ring terminals to the capacitor's positive terminal.
