Subject: illumination on headunit, which wire?

I just installed a pioneer headunit in my SC300.

https://www.intellexual.net/faq/lexusstereo.swf
Shows TWO illumination signals one positive and one negative
(I confirmed this in my factory service manual)

But my aftermarket headunit (Pioneer deh8000) only has ONE wire for illumination.....
So which one do I connect it too? the positive or negative????

thanks
Ken

hypothetically speaking..positive..id presume it would ground itself through the head unit.

try them both out. hook up one and then turn on your headlights. if it dims, then thats the one

[Ken,

Look in the menu on your 8000. You can turn the ill. control on or off in there. I had the same problem with my DEH-9000 until I found this option in the Pioneer menu.
