I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with the stock CD/AM/FM radio. I want to upgrade to the Infinity sound system that was an option for this car. I can get the AMP, six speakers, etc but the junk yard will not rip out the wiring harness and connectors from the dashboard, said he wants to keep the dash intact for another buyer. Is there a replacement harness with connectors available for this setup? If not can I just buy the connectors for the amp and rewire it myself? I'm very handy with a soldering iron and can follow complex wiring diagrams no problem. HELP!!

The answer to this question is as follows, leave the garbage Infinity system in the junk yard where it belongs. Once you realize that the Infinity system is nothing more than a wiring nightmare on Elm street and the fact that the speakers are bottom of the line garbage with an amp on them you may understand. Buy yourself aftermarket equipment that is both built better and sounds better. If you want to continue on this path, the connectors may be bought from a Chysler parts dealer and you can probably make the harnesses up with your handy Soldering Iron. While I will not doubt your abilities to follow the wiring instuctions and install this system, it can be laid waste to by a proper aftermarket system. Just something for you to consider.

I agree! Your time will be much more well spent looking for an aftermarket head-unit and speakers (and it will sound alot better then the factory Infinity system would). ROFL, nice comment forbidden!!!!

I can understand wanting to do the upgrade to a "better" sound system and trying to keep it stock. But that's real headache that you're asking for (regardless of your skill). If you still want to embark on this task, you can probably get the proper connectors from a chrysler dealership and you should also get a wiring schematic for both your durango and an infinity equipped model. If you're wanting to keep it stock, why not just keep the factory head unit and use it to power aftermarket speakers and amp(s)? If it were me, I'd just contact my local Eclipse car audio dealer and make a purchase. Even though it's infinity...it's still STOCK ------------- Duane...
If you think you're confused, imagine how you feel.

I used to have a Chrysler LHS with Infinity and I thought it sounded good......until I got this current car and put in an amp, sub, and speakers. I used cheap, dirty cheap, and it is a far higher sound quality than the factory Infinity was. But I kept the factory head unit. You can do that and put yourself a system together. Car manufacturers make their sound systems, um, untouchable. They want your upgrade dollars.
