i just purchased 4 audiobahn aw1251t subs and am wondering how to wire them to a 4 channel amplifer that can handle from 2 to 8 ohm capacity these speakers appear to be dual voice coils...

The amp will produce its highest power if it has a 2 ohm load on each channel. The subs are DVC 4 ohm, so the voice coils may be wired in parallel to make each sub a 2 ohm sub. Then each sub will connect to one channel of the 4 channel amp. This will run the subs in stereo, and is best if you are using four sub enclosures.
Optional is to split the 4 subs into 2 groups, if you are going to use 2 boxes. In this scenario, the voice coils should be wired in series to get 8 ohms per sub, then the group of two should be wired together in parallel. That will give you 4 ohms total per box ( 2 + 2 ), and the box of two subs should be bridged across two channels of the amp. You will get the same power from the amp in either scenario.
