Is there any advantage to running a ground from the HU back to the same spot the AMPs ground too? Or is it all just the same grounding it to the chassis of the car next to the HU, and grounding the AMPS to the chassis next to the AMPS? I would think its the same since electrically it should be the same.

I always run a saftey ground from the deck to the amplifiers when I am doing any installs which have outboard amps running the speakers. I just use the ground at the front for the deck and have the other one at the back not hooked up. Sometimes when you experience engine noise hooking the saftey ground up to the same ground as the amps can help eliminate it. Other times it just wont do anything.
