2000 Celica, 2 small, but annoying, problems

Hey Guys.

I have a Celica -00, and i have 2 problems.

1) i took out the factorystereo and replaced it with a newer/better JVC. The problem is that it doesnt save the radiostations, although everything IS correct connected, i have not cut any wires or anything, just connected it via ISO. The "12+ permanent cable" from the Celica is connected to the correct cable that goes into the stereo. the stereo works perfect except for ths little problem.

2) the seatbelt warning lamp is continuesly on, not the driver's but the passenger lamp, at the top of the center console by the clock. it worked great before i change stereo. even if i disconnect the stereo it's still highlighted, and putting on all the seatbelts on the car still makes it highlighted.

i only got one theory and that's if perhaps a fuse is broken or something. anyone got any other ideas, help is appreciated :)

Btw, i dont have any amp in my car so bypassing isnt necessary.

Problem 1 sounds like you do not have power to the memory wire (constant +12V.)  If you are certain it is connected properly, then I suspect you are correct and you have a blown fuse somewhere, which could be related to problem 2.  I suggest you check all your fuses, both under the dash and under the hood.

Problem 1 is definitely the power and acc wire is switched and problem two, try to reinstall the OEM stereo and see if this problem persists. Haven't heard of this problem in the past with other Celica's though ?

you mean that the constant +12V cable and the acc wire is switched? they aren't, i've checked that more then twice, they are at the correct position. I have looked up a complete wiring diagram and all the colors match just where they should be. I just don't think that there is any power in the constant 12V cable, but yeah i am gonna install the Oem stereo again and see if there is any memoryloss on that one, then there is definitely something wrong, and hopefully just a fuse. thx for all your inputs

update:

Problem 1 fixed, this will sound abormally stupid but here it goes: i installed another stereo and it worked great, no memoryloss there. so the problem had to be in my stereo. on the backside there is a 15A fuse, but it wasnt blown. the fuse has 2 "legs", but i got 3 holes to put it in, so the fuse can be in a total of 2 positions, so i changed it from 1-2 over to 2-3 and now it works great, a bit embarrased but hey, someone else may stumple up upon this problem.

problem 2 still stays, unfortunately, even had a Toyota guy to check out the fuses. seems to be an electrical malfunction :(
