Hey,
I have a 99 explorer sport w/ factory speakers. I have factory location 6x8s (in the front doors and rear seat paneling). I wanted to run some new/upgraded speaker wire to all four of the speakers for a couple of reasons... 1) I am upgrading to Pioneer TS-A6870R 3-way speakers and 2) My back right speaker isnt making any sound and its not the speaker itself that is broken. What advice does anyone have and some step by step help would be appreciated.
Thanx

Just make sure u check all of your connections.. or even could be something as dumb as the fade/balance on your head unit.. Good luck...

The speaker lead going to the speaker that isn't working could be grounded out accidentally, if it got pinched or if the actual wire is touching the chassis of your explorer.
Agreed with the two posts above, save the factory wiring for what you want to do. You can get speaker plugs to attach to the new speakers from places like Crutchfield's, that will connect to the factory wiring. But find the wiring problem and fix it instead of trying to splice new speaker wires onto the factory radio.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
hey, thanks for all the advice. I think it could be the wire harness itself and i found a new one on crutchfield. thanks
