Yes, you need an amp.  Those head units are not 200watt.  Probably more like less than 20 real watts per channel.  Are the subs dual 4-ohm voice coils?  They probably are, in which case you'll want to look for a mono 2-ohm stable amplifier.

This page should help answer some other questions.

you shouldnt automatically assume he has dual 4 ohm coils. there are many dvc ohm configurations for different applications out there. we should wait until he responds with what ohms his speakers are, then we can go from there.

...and you won't need that Lanzar thingamajig.  Don't forget to post your sub model and voice coil rating.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

thapimp:   I didn't automatically assume, that's why I asked the question and followed it with, 'probably'.  I realize there are a lot of different dvc configurations.  My sub is dual 2-ohm, for example.  I just wanted to give him a head start in case he knew right away what he bought.  Most dvc subs I see on the mass market (best buy, circuit city, crutchfield, etc.) are dual 4-ohms.  I was simply trying to be helpful.  No harm, no foul .. just wanted to let you know my intentions were good!  posted_image
