HI,

I just got it and i put in a volfenhag 1600 watt aplifier with a 0 gauge power kit. Problem is

that my battery wont hold it charge now even if i turn the stereo off. I added a Optinum battery.

But still no go, just wont hold its charge well. Battery isnt defective, so is the alternator. Its the original i beleive?

thx

If the amp is off, and the battery is not charging, there is a connection problem from the alternator to the battery.  Go over all wiring connections again, with the battery negative wire removed so you don't explode.  Reconnect the wiring at the battery positive terminal, which will include the wiring from the alt and the wiring you added for the amp.

Also take loose and reconnect alt and battery ground wires, making sure you get good connections to bare metal.  You will also want to get your battery trickle charged back up to full capacity before trying the system again.
