My amp quit working a week ago, I believe it has no output.  It makes this hissing or whining sound whenever it is on, but no sound from my subs.  The red LED still comes on and I checked the wiring and fuses and it all looks good.  The amp is a Punch Power 1500bd and they are pushing two Kicker L7 12" subs, and I have had the system for about a year.

the whining sound you hear is probably an oscillation coming from the power supply.... i tend to suspect that you've blown the FET's in the power supply, if you had blown the outputs you'd know it ( smoking, fuse blowing, etc )

I agee.  Sounds like the old input voltage vs sensitivity mis-match.  Or it's possible you have fried the voice coils in the speakers and they are frozen.
