ok I have a alpine mrv1507 im hooking up to 2 mtx 8000 12's, I want to wire them in parrallel, which would bring them down to 2 ohms.... could this amp handle that?? I know the specs say bridged it can push 600w at 4 ohms.. what if I wired it parralel making it two??

If you wired it for 2 ohms bridged then the amp would go into protection mode = no sound.

alpine dosnt reccommend running it 2 oms bridged, although i have done it numeroustimes in the past with no problem, the amp will not put out more power at two ohms,(not anything you will notice), you might get the amp to high current mode but it will play, so to be safe just run it at 4 ohms

If your subs are single 4 ohm voice coil then you can wire one sub to each channel, or wire both of them in series and connect them to the bridged output on your amp.

I dont know if that pic will work but hopefully...I used the tutorial off of the JL audio website, for wiring 2 SVC subs in parrallel, how would I get them up to 4 ohms?? Im new to this stuff!!! would it be safe to leave them like it is?? I wired them in last night... they eem to work fine, although I didnt turn the volume up cuz I have neighbors, I was planning on just resuming regular use today... or shoudl I wire them differently?

Here is a series set up. FYI, how you have it wired according to the diagram above is going to smoke that amp, change the wiring.

Alright thanks much for that info bro.... I played the system a little bit today and it didnt seem to hurt anything... is this just luck?? Thank God you told me this now! I'll change up the wiring tomorrow!! thanks much!!!

I wouldn't count on your amp lasting a long time if you run it bridged with a 2 ohm load. Play it safe and wire in series or one sub on each channel.
