xtant.. whats the deal with the x series subs? Are they good sq.. spl?? anyone heard them??

Xtant makes some really fine equipment. I have not played with the X series subs too much but from their design it seems that they are much more suited to a listening sub rather than a balls to the wall high output SPL monster that smacks your grey matter up against your forehead. I just had a failure of an Xtant amp

, the Eclipse aluminum subs running of of the x1001 caused a cap to beak off of the circuit board. It snapped both leads off of the cap and the thing was flying around inside of the amp, funny thing is though, the amp still worked with no noticeable loss of output to the subs. Eclipse aluminum 12's, gotta love them, poor Acura RSX, I can only imagine what it will be like in 2 years time, rattle rattle.....

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
Panels will start falling off, dome lights will rattle loose, screws backing out.................The art of bass, lol.

those aluminums draw a lot of power. theyll suck your car dry. but anyways, the xtant subs are great. just dont get the A series. the x's are about 300 hundred bucks for a 10 so if you can get em cheaper id jump on it. they look really nice too. i had a pair of z series but i always wanted the x's. they got an inch and a half rubber surround and can take some power
