Im installing an amp in my Accord but I do not know the easiest way to pass the wire from the engine bay into the interior. I want to run the power wire along the driver's side. Does anyone know how and the easiest place to get through the firewall on that side
You can usually find a factory plug that is not being used or there might be a wiring harness that will allow your power wire to pass through. I really can't remember the 93 Accord's engine bay right off hand. If you can't find one then I would suggest using a "uni-bit" and drill a hole. Be sure to check behind the spot where you want to drill for any wires, brake lines, etc.Run the wire in "flex loom" and use a grommet so the metal will not cut trhough the wire. In some installs I use a small peice of solid copper wire and push it though a factory harness, attach my power wire and pull it though. Works good. So happy hunting! Trust me. There is a hole somewhere you just have to find it.

I have a 1991 Accord and they should be the same.
There should be a rubber pulg on the left hand side along the firewall when your looking in the trunk.The plug justs pops out and you can poke a hole in it, run your wire thru and there ya have it.
Run your power and sub wire along the passenger side and your other audio wires along the left side

Why would you want to run power and sub wire on passenger side?
I think you have it backwards. Whats your theory?
Mine is that most brake light and other 12V wires are run along the drivers side and that would give interference signals to any audio source wires run parallel to them.
I've always run power/ground and turn on on the left, and speaker and signal wires on the passenger side.

Most accords of that vintage have the battery on the right side of the car, rather than the left, and oftentimes the only way to get a power cable to reach all the way to an amp at the back of the car is to run it straight up to the firewall from the battery, then through the firewall and down the passenger side. obviously, in this case, the optimal routing of the RCA cable would be down the driver's side.
Gurlblu: those 12v wires that are like 16 or 18 gauge and are throughout the driver's side of the underdash are not going to give you a whole lot of interference issues because they don't carry much current. Now if it's a 12v, say, 12 gauge or larger power cable then yea I'd say keep the patch cables at least 18" away and cross them at right angles if necessary. This is also the reason why you can almost always run the remote turn-on wire with the RCA cable and not have it affect sound quality (they usually carry less than 1 ampere of current). The obvious reason to do this is because they both connect to the head unit and thus it would be easier to route them along the same path, unlike the power cables, which originate from the positive battery terminal.
