I installed a deck for a guy and he said the factory radio was louder...

I'm sure it was louder and crappier sounding, but I'm wondering if the factory system has higher impedences than 4 ohms?

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please let me know. I don't want to tell this guy he needs new speakers, even though....he probably needs new speakers.

He's happy with my install, but not with the unit. He didn't buy it from me, so I could care less, it's a BOSS mp3 player. His chief complaint is that it cuts sound at high volumes  (he's probably one of those volume fiends)

It's a stock, regular system, except for the deck, no premium sound.

I already told him my solution: 4 channel amp and new speakers!

Ummm.... I bet the boss amp isn't any better then the factory amp. I would consider putting the factory head-unit back in or get a new unit thats better (both alpine and blaupunkt make some nice and inexpensive cd players that would sound so much better).
