I was just wondering why sounddomain is blowing these amps at such a low price. Also, it posts an RMS power @ 4 ohms, and a bridged RMS power @ 4 ohms also, with the same number of channels. Could someone explain this to me? I'm in the dark on this subject.

That is a nice 3-channel amp. Rated as follows:

RMS Power at 2 Ohms100 W x 2 + 200 W x 1
RMS Power at 4 Ohms50 W x 2 + 100 W x 1

When the stereo channel is bridged, the load must be no less than 4 ohms and you will achieve 200 watts RMS (100 + 100).

I believe this is a discontinued model and is being closed out all over the place for less than $200.  A great deal on a high-quality amp.  Be sure to read the owner's manual carefully, as this amp requires an outboard fuse (it is not internally fused) and has many professional options like balanced inputs, output gain, and more.

DYohn, I've always wondered what they mean by 2 additional "passive channels."  Can you shed any light?

It means the amp can be daisy-chained to control a second stereo amp to create a five-channel system that is all ballanced.  If you go to the Xtant web site, download the "Intallers Reference".  They should have them for your amps, too.

Cheers.

It is a great little tool that Xtant has built into some of there amps. What they do is simple, they provide a second set of speaker outputs that are wired to the front outputs. This means that once these outputs have speakers attached the load on the front channels drops to 2 ohms. This leads to a small problem which thankfully Xtant solved. In between the front and second outputs they put a variable resistor bank to attenuate the signal, thus the amp can now be configured for front and rear + sub in this case and your can contol the level of the rear speakers through the resistor network.

Too bad sounddomain didn't have this deal a few months ago when I was looking for amps!  The THD of that amp is rated much lower than my 2002/4004 series set.  :/   Oh well, I'm pretty happy with my amps.  I'm almost glad I have a dvc 2-ohm sub so I won't be tempted to swap my amps out with one of these.

Did anyone else notice the main factor, being that it is not currently available?

Would that amp be powerful enough to run 2 12" that are rated at around 150-400 RMS? I havent decided what subs to buy yet, but all the ones im considering have those specs. I think they are all also 4 Ohm.
