HU not working correctly

hey i was wondering is anyone could help me out on this. i just installed a new deck and removed an older aftermarket one that the previous owner installed...he did cut up the wires instead of buying a harness though. i cant figure out which is power antenna, remote turn on for my amp, memory, and constant power doesnt seem to be constant. i had to hook up constant and ignition together for the deck to power on. i know my car has power antenna but when i printed out the wiring schematic it just says N/A. everything seemed to be working fine before i installed the deck so i guessed i kinda fked up. any help on trying to figure out these wires would be appreciated...the schematic i printed out from the12volt doesnt seem to be helping much. also another question...anybody know how to hook up kenwood's mini eq? thanks.

i'm quite new at this too but after prepping myself for my first install and reading heaps of articles, i bet you could use your remote wire to trigger your power antenna.

what type of vehicle is this???

Use a volt meter to find your constant power and your ignition on power.  It's not good to have them both to constant, you'll leave the radio on on day and come back with a dead battery.  The remote wire is usually some type of blue wire.  Hope that helps.

i already tried using remote trigger to power antenna....doesnt work...if i put power antenna to ignition itll work though. this is on a 1997 acura integra...i already printed out the wiring schematic but it doesnt seem to help any. i wired ignition and constant together but it doesnt stay on without the key in and ignition on...so im assuming i no longer have constant....maybe a torn wire? remote wire is usually a blue wire? i know its a blue wire coming from the head unit but is it going to be a blue wire coming from the car? thanks.

If you have power with the key in the ignition that is your remote wire. Connect that wire to the red wire on the head unit. If you don't have a constant power wire most likely it's shorted out. Check both of the fuse box inside and underneath the hood. If I understand you correctly, your car is a 1997 Interga. The constant power wire for your car is blue/white or yellow/red. Fine and replace the fauty fuse that was shorted out. Once you get a constant wire you can now connect this wire to the yellow wire on the head unit.   

“if i put power antenna to ignition itll work though”. This wire that you mention. Connect this to the blue wire on the head unit. Before you do this, used a digital meter and see if you are getting a 12 volt on the blue wire when the head unit power up. If not, you have a problem. One of them is the head unit is defective; the other one is that you shorted it out. Depending on the type of head unit you have, some will reset itself other you will need to bring it back to get it service.

Use a digital meter and match the head unit wire up to this.
