I am upgrading a Taurus to add the cd player and need to know the schematic as it is on the back of the cd player.  Specially the 6 pin straight plug.  What is power, ground, etc................?????

Thanks, Brian

What year Taurus??

The newer Taurus' require a harness that runs from the trunk. That is where the brain for the stock HU is, and also the antenna, they require an antenna extension to run back up into the dash.

This is the best way to install a aftermarket HU, alot easier, because if it is in fact a newer taurus, you won't get the connections you need to install an aftermarket HU.

It is a 1993 Taurus.  The radio and cd player both have part numbers starting with  "F8ZF".  I was told they would work with my Taurus with wiring adapters.  But before I order a bunch of wrong adapters, spending more $$$$$ I want to be sure.  Both units came with pigtails to make work but with no pictures.  I have bee given many pictures for different stereos butnone for the cd player.
