ok after blowin my mid i order the other night a new set of components. i order the cdt cl-61a to remplace my diamond audio m3. im going from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 and since im going to do some fiberglassin to get them in nice i want to make a small seal box. i heard that cdt love a lil enclosure. but i cant find any where how many cubes does it need. i hear that is is just under .2 but not sure. does anyone know. will the hard work be well worth it???

p.s. does anyone know a quick way to measure cube in an odd shape of fiberglass. like usin sand or somethin like that

sand or water would probably be the most accureate ... you could try packing foam, but it won't be as accurate.

Where did you hear they love a small sealed enclosure? Maybe they do, but most 6.5" component sets are not designed for small sealed. I'm sure it can be done .. many people create fiberglass kick panels for midrange/midbass speakers. But don't get your hopes up that it will be a huge increase in sound quality - it could actually hurt your midbass.

This from Mb Quart's website: "All of MB Quart’s midrange/midbass speakers are optimized for infinite baffle/free air mounting, which is essentially mounting in the door or factory speaker locations. They will work best in this type of mounting using the door cavity as the enclosure. Sealed enclosures are not recommended since they would require larger than practical volumes for the speaker to function optimally. This holds true for all MB Quart products with the exception of our subwoofers. If a midrange/midbass driver is put into a small sealed enclosure, it will alter the speaker’s response characteristics and you will not get the full amount of bass or midbass that the speaker is capable of producing."

that is what my friend told me. but if i can find an actual article about cdt im just going to mold them around and that is it. thanks
