Moving your faceplate?

Has anyone ever moved there faceplate to another location? I saw it once in a magazine years ago and was thinking of doing it. I was wanting to take my headunit out of the dash and put just the faceplate somewhere else, like in the sunvisor.

I've seen someone on here do that. Be careful. If you do that and mess it up you don't have any warranty anymore. Through your retail store, nor the manufactor.
