In my amp wiring kit there is a 20 ft long RCA patch cable. There is 2 RCA plugs wired together but in between them there is a small wire that has almost 1 copper wire. I wanted to know what that was for.(I was thinking it was a ground wire but i posted this question just to make sure).

usually it's used as a separate ground wire.....l i've seen it used as the remote wire but i dont recommend that for obvious reasons....

so should i just leave it alone? i also have a remote wire soldered to the blue wire behind my head unit.
