I was wondering what kind of affect does an improperly seal box have on the subs??? And can it make them play more quiet if there is a leak?

an air leak like on one of the edges of the box where its not sealed properly

a real big leak is a port. lol sorry bout that i could not help myself. they will not sound very good. flat sounding. plus you may hear the air passing thru the cracks. seal the inside with fiberglass or some bondo.

If its hard to find the leak and there is more than one you can pick up a can of truck bed spray at walmart for cheap and just spray over all the inside corners and edges prob about 3 times.That will seal all the possible future leaks too.

or you can make sure its really sealed. go around the inside of the box with silicone. its cheap to, wont cost you more than 5$ if you have a silicone gun.

If you go w/ the silicone remember not to put the drivers back in for at least 12 hours or until the silicone is cured. They say the fumes can harm some of the subwoofer materials.
