well actually neither... but Soundstream if i HAD to chose ( depends on the application actually, Soundstream would be an OK choice for running satellites at moderate listening levels )

unfortunately i'm basing my choice from a servicers point of view, not based on features, price, etc, etc.   i've fixed too many of both to want to own one.....

you never PLAN on fixing an amp ( or anything else for that matter ) i was just commenting on the fact that WHEN these two brands of amps blow up, they blow up real good ( picture the implosion of a 60 story skyscraper )

and hate to sound all negative about stuff, but even though an amp may CLAIM to be 1 ohm stable.... i dont really recommend running it at a 1 ohm load for any extended period of time.....

yah, yah... i know... the sky is falling, the sky is falling

I have had Hifonics Amps for 12 years or more and have never had one fail. Great Amps except the newer stuff. The best is Series VII or VIII. Pick up a Zeus Series VII or even a Boltar Series VII for under $400.00 and put it against anything out there. You want the product built by Zed Audio not the maxxsonics junk.

Why do you want to run anything at 1 ohm mono? All this load does is demand more current, generate more heat and take an amp for all it's worth even though it's rated for .5 ohms stereo or 1 ohm mono. From my experience the lower the impedance the more the quality goes out the window.
