How can I remove a very light alternator whine? I only notice it when there is a break in the music at normal listing level.... But hay... who is to say that is... LOL

I am running HiFonics 6400. It is grounded with an 8 gage wire that is less that 18" to the body. I have also removed the paint from this area.I am using Rockford twisted RCA's. The hot lead is on the other side of the car. Any other ideas???
