I am looking for a pair of 12" subs for a sealed eclosure and was looking at these three JBL GTO1220 (svc 2 ohm), Kicker CVR 12 (4+4 ohm), and the new Alpine Type S (4+4 ohm). I'll be running them off a JBL BP600.1 amp. Anybody have and opinions or experience with these subs?
The amp is not 1ohm stable But with 2 dual 2's you can run 2ohm mono at 600 watts as aposed to 4 ohn mono at 300 or so watts
For that amp id say dual 2home JBL's or
kisker comp vr 03CVR12-2 12 Dual 2-ohm
Good luck....
The amp is 1 ohm stable, it just make the same power as a 2 ohm load.
I stand corrected
I liked the kicker... I heard they hit harder than the alpine but iv never owned alpine subs. But i also hear alpine sound cleaner... i'v never heard the jbl....

JBL mono amps will run at 1-ohm, but it is much better to load them no lower than 2-ohms. They will last longer and so will your subs. But back to your question, JBL makes some of the best sounding to my ears car subs on the market today. The GTO line has better SQ than the other two choices you listed, and their GTi line competes with literally anything else on the market IMO. So between the three you listed, I say JBL is your best bet. But you should listen to them all before you purchase and make up your mind by what sounds best to you, not by specs printed on paper or what anyone else tells you.
