have a pioneer deh-p860mp... supposed to be xm ready. before I got this, i was using the fm mod pioneer xm receiver gex-fm903xm I think is the model number... using it wiht my clarion 815mp... well anyway to get to the point: have the pioneer head unit hooked up now and the fm modulated receiver running directly to the new head unit but the head unit isnt controlling it or even recognizing it. the manual only lists one xm receiver to use... its the gex-p910xm. it doesnt say that its the only one that can be used or that the fm mod cant be used.

anyone have any ideas before i plan on buying a new receiver?

it plugged into the IP bus connection on the back of the pioneer deck? sometimes you have to turn the ip bus connector on. Sometimes you have to turn the radio off then old the function or audio button down to pull up the menu then turn the aux ip bus port on.

fosgate3,

are you still running the xm receiver fm modulated?  or do you have a p-bus cable?  if you are using the p-bus cable, make sure you are in the correct plug.  there is a black and a blue plug on the xm receiver. one is "in" and one is "out"  you should be pluged into the black pug on the receiver and blue plug on back of radio.  also be sure to hit the reset button on the xm receiver after all connections are made.

actually i found my mistake this morning *doh* really dumb of me: when I was hooking it all up yesterday, I was in a hurry. In my "hurry-ness" I accidently connected the cable in the input on the XM receiver instead of the output. I saw it this morning and corrected it. Everything is great now.

Thanks for you help
