The stock Bose system already has an amp in it, usually attached to each speaker or in some cases a central location. If you are trying to add a sub to the system you will need a high quality LOC (line output convertor) to convert the signal from that of a high level (speaker lead) to a low level (rca lead) to integrate an amplifier into this system. Find one pair of speakers and attach a set of wires to the speaker wires to get a signal for the LOC. All this does for lack of better words is sample the signal, it is not drawing more power or less power from the speakers.
