i want a good system...i have a 2002 eclipse so its a pretty small car but i dont know how much watts my amp has to be or my subs have to be to equal out...or whats a good number for them...any ideas?

i dont have any i want to buy some but i dont know how many watts i need for my amp if say my subs 2gether equal 2200 or 2400

So, I assume you're going almost exclusively for SPL?  A general rule of thumb is to approach the rms of the sub with the rms of the amplifier.  2000+ watts is really quite a bit of power.  What subs are you considering?  People here can usually offer better assistance if you give more details of what you want to accomplish and what equipment you're thinking about.
