I have a lil '97 Civic Coupe. I am looking for some good SPL. I need some advice though. Should I go with (2) 12 Kicker Solo-Baric L7's in a vented box or (1) 15 inch Kicker Solo-Baric L7. Which would be the best SPL setup. I planned on using JBL 1200.1 and getting the 2 ohm version subs if I decided to go with the (2) 12's,but I don't have a clue what to do if I decide to go with the one 15.

Ive heard the kickers many times and those new woofers are really awsome I would definetly say go with the 2 twelves .

No matter which 12's you go with you will get more spl that way..

The two 12's would be a better way to go.

Ok cool thanks guys... If I use the two 12's with the JBL 1200.1 does it matter if I get the 4ohm or 2 ohm? Because I can wire either one to create a 1ohm load to my amp and get about 600 watts to each sub correct?

I am not a JBL dealer but from the responses that I have read from those that are this is what I would advise. By the sounds of it (Dyohn or others can correct if I am wrong) the amp is stable at 2 ohms and although it will play at 1 ohm it does not make more power, thus it is much harder on the amp to continuously operate at 1 ohm. Buy dual 2 ohm subs and wire them up in a series / parallel configuration for a combined final load of 2 ohms.

I used to sell those amps and they do make more power at one ohm and they do play stable at one ohm. Now you do have to make sure the thing is vented well because it will be dissipating alot of heat. I never had a problem with them shutting off but I always made sure they were mounted in well ventallated areas or on the back of the seat so you could fold down the seat to give the amp more breathing room. Just about any amp you run at one ohm is gonna heat up quick so be ware but dont be suprised.
