Zup fam -

those Kicker K60's are done! waaay to weak for my amp.

Who makes a 6.5" that can handle 120 Watts comin from the Kicker 04-650.4 amp - ?

I know I should of went with the kx350.4 but, hey, they were gifts so I have to work around the problem -

can any one suggest or knows of a pair that can handle the power of the 650.4 which puts out 120 watts RMS per channel - ?

Do you have a high pass crossover on those speakers?  If you're sending that much power to a 6.5" speaker and push it loud you should have it crossed over at 80-100hz.

Components from MB Quart can handle that kind of power.  Boston, Image Dynamics, Focal, Memphis, Diamond, etc. will also handle 120 if crossed over correctly.

The more you're going to push a midrange driver the higher the crossover point needs to be.  If crossed at or below 80hz, the slope should be fairly steep.

You just need one set of crossovers actually turned on and working.  Did you have one on?

K -

I actually use both, the one built in the kx650.4 & the EQ on the dash -  do I need a third - ?

if I don't need it, which 6.5's should I go with - ?

I recently heard a set-up with some Beyma speakers: www.beyma.com & it sound sicks dude - ! though they're very expensive, just one 6.5 can run up to $160 - (I paid less for my L7's!) &  their Titanium tweeters run about $175 for the set! I think or even more - have you head of the 'Beyma' company before - ?

I'm curious about your EQ, and if I was a betting man I'd say that the eq was causing some clipping that eventually ended your speakers.  How did you have it set?  Did you properly set your amplifier gains _after_ you changed your EQ settings?  Anyway, most of the time I've heard of people toasting speakers isn't by overpowering, it is by doing something that causes the amplifier to clip:  turning on the bass boost, turning up the volume on the receiver too high, setting the gains incorrectly, and using an eq 'by ear' are common causes.

The above link is a page on how speakers are often blown.  As an answer to your question, no you don't need a 3rd crossover.  One is enough.

Go with 6.5" drivers from a reputable company that can actually exceed the numbers they publish.
