I am currently running a 12" Rockford Fosgate subwoofer.  It's Rockfords 2003 models, one of the lower end models of the punch series.  I am running that subwoofer off of a V-power Series Alpine Amplifier, it's only like 250/300 Watts.  I was just wondering if turning the gain and EQ up will wreck my subwoofer.  I've turned it up before and it seems to be fine.  I like more bass, and I was just wondering if it was okay to do that.  thanks.

You set the gain to match the head unit voltage, and then leave it alone.  If you then apply a bass boost after setting the gain, you have to reset the gain.  Same thing with using an EQ boost.  See many threads in this forum for setting gain.  If the system is not loud enough after proper setting, then you would have to consider upgrades to your equipment.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
