Hey everyone,

I am installing a Pioneer AVIC-N1 in a Jeep Grand CHerokee (2001) and I want to be able to keep the steering wheel controls. The problem is that for some reason, Pioneer's flagship system does not have an IR remote or an IR receiver. it has an input for a wired remote

Has anyone been able to get steering wheel controls onto this unit? or am I SOL?

thanks

Hi,
I'm no audio expert.... in fact I'm quite a newbie. This particular product looks as if there is a plug for units that have a wired remote instead of an IR remote.

Thanks for the reply.  It is much appreciated.

After some searching, (And after we installed the unit) We discovered it does have an IR reciever. (the remote from my DEHP8600 works with it)  So we are going to wire in and IR blaster remote to the SW controls.

Thanks again dude! :)
