Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I joined because I'm getting into custom enclosures & fiberglass. But I was re-wiring a stock headunit back into a 2000 Dodge Ram, and the wiring diagram was wrong. I was going to just ditch the stock headunit, and run LOC's to an amp for the speakers. When I took of the door panels I realized it was an infinity system. Unfortunatly nobody decided to place this on the actual Head Unit. I was wondering if anyone know's how to wire the headunit or if they have a diagram I could get. Any help would be awesome. Thanks, this site is sweet.

Well, HU's are usually pretty straightforward.

Yellow is the batery cable (always on)
red is the ignition cable (ONly on when the ignition switch is in th correct position)
Black is ground.
Blue is usually a remote antena/turn on
As for speaker cables, well, that is trial and error, because everybody does it diferently.

Use your head unit balance/fader switches to isolate individual speakers, and try out the different wires.

Usually the same pair of wires will be one solid color (+) and same color with a stripe (-).

Hope it helps a bit...

You can always read the head unit... Stock units sometimes have a wiring diagram label written on them.

And it never hurts to ask... Did you read the manual?posted_image

Well I finally figured it out. Lensam69, that's exactly what I did.... trial and error with the fader. There was another wire for an amp turn on I guess. I linked it to the ignition wire. The head unit doesn't actually say that it's an infinity sound system. I didn't realize it until I pulled out the passanger side speaker and saw a huge box with about 20 wires running in out attatched to the speaker. On the box plain as day there it was, "Infinity." Well anyway thanks alot for the help.
