i'm going to install my JL speakers into my lexus is 300.  i have 6.5" (fronts) and 6 x 9" (rears).  is there anything i need to know?  can i just plug and play or will the factory amp be an issue.  i will replace the factory amp at some point but i already own the speakers and just want to throw them in. just wanted to verify my approach with the experts so i did not screw up, thanks everyone.

There should be no harm come to your new speakers, they being 4 ohm impedance.  If the originals were 4 ohm, you'll just hear better sound.  If the originals were 2 ohm, you'll hear better sound but not as loud.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
