Saw some old posts where folks had problems getting output to the door speakers after connecting up an after market using the Dodge wiring harness.  Didn't see any any answers, so I'll ask the question again!  Intrepid has two tweeters in the dash, two 5 or 6 inch speakers in the front doors, and two in the back.  After wiring up my new unit, the door speakers are dead, and no low frequencies ouit of the rear speakers either.  The unit is fine, and all the wire leads to the harness check out fine (metra 70-1870 harness). I re installed the factory, and all the speakers work fine, so no shorts, etc.  I'm stumped!!

thats the same thing that happened with my tempo, the harness wouldnt work at all. i ended up just having to cui the wires and hook each one up individually and i couldnt get power to it so i had to run a wire straight from the battery and thats how mine has been ever since.

Do you mean 70-1817?.... i dont know about the 1870.

Your most likely missing an amp remote or amp ground. remote will be blue or blue/white in the metra harness

Also there may be multiple ground, a braded strap and a black wire with a female spade connector

oooops,  yes, the harness is metra 70-1817.  I'll try connecting the amp remote blue as you mention as I didn't connect those thinking that it wouldn't be needed.

defective:

Connected blue/white labeled "remote" to blue "ant" on the harness and voila, everything works.  Thanks loads!
