I just replaced my Monsoon system. I put in 2 Kenwood amps bridged so I get 70W rms to each door.

They were mounted upside down from the rear deck, and have been re-mounted right side up. They last longer but, still go into protection mode from the heat.

I dont want to build a box for them, would putting 1 or 2 12v fans on each of them help out?

How large of a ground wire did you use and where did you ground the wire ?

Mounting them under the rear deck should give them adequate ventilation. Sounds like you might have problem that is unrelated to heat.

The power wire is 2 guage to the dist block and 8 guage from there.

The amps are seperately grounded to the rear deck with 10 to 12 inches of 8 guage wire

The amps are pushing 2 sets of Infinity Kappa components 60.5cs

What crroush is asking is what I would check first.  What ohms do the amps see???  If your running to low than no matter where you mount them they will shut down.

The speakers are running through crossover networks. All four outputs of the amps are measuring 3.5 ohms.
