Does anyone know if a PPI PCX-440 is capable of 2 ohm mono?  I know you can bridge the 4 channels to 2 @ 4ohms but I don't know if it could handle 2.  I know the older ones were 1 ohm stable, but the I don't know about the pcx, or dcx line.

The PCX multi-channel line is rated into 4-ohms with two channels bridged and no lower.  I have never tested them to see if they are stable at lower loads.

Yes, it's called re-coning.  But why since a 2-ohm DVC wired in series is 4-ohms...
