Hey there,

I am in the midst of installing an older sony 10-disc changer in my 99 Alero and I have hit a bit of a snag.  I am not entirely sure how to manage wiring the power connections from the rf unit to the stereo system.  From the rf unit, I've got a black wire, red and yellow.  What is the best or even easiest way of connecting these wires, where do they belong, etc.... my radio bites and I need some cds badly!!

Thanks for your assistance (it is greatly appreciated)

your looking for the wires behind the radio. The yellow wire is constant power, it will connect to an orange wire behind the radio.  The red wire is switched 12v/ignition, it connects to a yellow wire behind the radio. And the black wire is ground, connect it to any bare steel on the car.   You will have to also plug in the antenna to that RF unit if it is not wireless, this can be found behind the radio also, but you will need two antenna adapters (Metra Part # 40-GM3)

Okay, thanks.  I can handle the colour matching, no sweat.  However, what is the best approach to actually connecting them together?  Is it fine to just splice the wire behind the radio and then twist them together and wrap with electrical tape, or is this approach going to back fire on me?  (I realize, probably a pretty stupid question)... thanks
