Hi,

First let me start off with saying I'm completely new to car audio, although it won't take much for that to be quickly apparent.  My questions relate mostly to the sub I'm going to put into my mustang.  I'm really interested in the infinity kappa perfect line and i'm trying to figure out if I should go with 2 10s, 2 12s, or 1 12. Also, I'm trying to figure out if what the rms rating means.  For instance the 12s are rated at 350 rms and I was looking at JBL Px600.2 that has these specifications:

Power Output: 1200 Watts Peak
Frequency Response: 11Hz - 45kHz (+-1db)
Signal-to-Noise (dBA): >95dB
Total Harmonic Distortion: .04% at peak output
2-9/16" H x 17"W x 12-1/4" D
150 x 2 into 4 ohms
300 x 2 into 2 ohms
600W x 1 into 4 ohms bridged

Would the 300x2 into 2 ohms, and 150x2 into 4 ohms be the rms rating or something else.  And would it be enough to run 2 12s if it is the rms rating?Sorry if these questions have been answered before but I couldn't find it in search.

Also, I listen to mostly metal like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Slayer, etc. if that helps.

Yes, that amp would work with those subs (you will need to get the 4 ohm DVC version of them though, so you can wire them for 4 ohms, and each would recieve 300 watts continuous or RMS). I would go with two 10s probobly. I would also put them in a sealed box. You'll get good punchy bass with this setup.

Thanks alot for your help.  I was thinking of going with the 10s because of lack of space and lack of need for alot of heavy bass.

I too would go with the dual 10" approach due to the limited area to mount the subs in and the space to get the box through.
