dig, we would have responded to your other post if we had some, but look man, find a powerful enough alternater, installing dual alternaters is something you dont do in your garage. If your really hell bent on it go talk to a custom install shop, they'd probably be able to help you out.

I just think it would be a whole lot cheaper to get a normal alternator and just run that with ur existing alternator. I've seen some high pro alternator and damm thats a whole lot of dough

what kind of car u got ? you'll need to weld brackets to mount the 2nd alternator. u'll also have to find a longer belt to extend around the new pulley.

Some places offer trade-ins for your old alternator for a newer high output one. Also, some shops can "rebuild" your existing alternator to provide more amps. Just check around in your phone book for an alternator shop.

alternators for jeeps are dirt cheep compared to other vehicle brands. Just because every wana be off roader in the world has jeeps, and they pack there trucks full of lights and winches, , , so they buy alts too. Therefore companys make alts for those trucks cheeper. If your really look at the big picture on cost on the dual set up, and cost on the high amp set up, , its going to be around the same, , cuz first off you will need a 2nd alt, may need a special belt, maybe a few hours of labour at a machine shop, , either way its gona be about $300 ------------- 2003 Chevy Avalanche,Eclipse CD7000,Morel Elate 5,Adire Extremis,Alpine PDX-4.150, 15" TC-3000, 2 Alpine PDX-1.1000, 470Amp HO Alt.

running it is fairly simple, u just connect the outputs to their accordances on the battery like positive to positive, negative to negative, just follow the schematics of your current alternator. Once its welded in and wired up you'll then put the belt on it. Oh, did anyone mention in a dual alternator setup you have to have the belts aligned? That can be a space issue as u have to go vertical in order to accomplish this.
