i just installed a radio in my dads truck and i used a wiring harness to be safe and everything, but the thing is that now all the wires are hooked up except orange which is like illumination, but the radio will except a cd but there is no screen its all black all it does is except cd's and eject them other then that it looks like its off what can the problem be? I had this cd player in a previous car and it worked fine i just took it out cause i upgraded my radio.

I think the illumination wire needs to be hooked up. Wouldnt that solve the problem with the screen being all black because its not illuminated?

i dont think thats the problem cause on the wiring harness for the truck there is an orange wire and on my radio harness there isnt the only wire that isnt being used on my radio harness is solid blue

its a bad ground, , run your ground wire to a bare piece of metal, , like the fire wall.

What kind of truck is it anyways?

no i found the problem i was gettin power from my switched wire so i ran a new wire to my fuse box to a fuse that was switched
