where does gm put the xm tuners? lets say for example a new chevy truck. also does the antenna have a generic plug like aftermarket antennas, or does the antenna wire go directly into the tuner. im wondering this in case someone wants sirius instead of xm in a gm vehicle. id like to be able to use the factory antenna.

you're making this more complicated than it is... just install sirius in there like normal... add the sirius antenna.  although i have gotten a siruis antenna to pick up a hazy xm reception before... just install the siruis stuff in addition to the xm stuff from the factory. easy.

the whole point is being able to use the permanent factory xm antenna. i dont want to have two antennas up there and ive had success with using either antennas with both services.
