Right now i am trying to decide between 3 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12s and 3 Audiobahn Alum12Qs. Im trying to get kinda a show system going so thats why im attracted to the Alums and have heard a few good things about them but i have heard more good things about the Perfects but they arent as good looking as the Alums. So im asking is there a big difference between the two subs audio wise. And in the past i have owned a brahma 12 and a Solobaric 15 and while the brahma had incredible SQ it wasnt enough SPL and cost too much to get another and the Solobaric had crazy SPL but no SQ so im looking to go somewhere in the middle. And the subs are priced about the same on ebay which is about 300-350 for all of them. thanks ------------- 2007 Acura TSX

audiobahn isn't event in the same league as Infinity. Those 12Q's will get louder, but as they do those aluminum cones will distort the crap out of your music. The kappas will hit hard, low, and clean. I'm all for the kappas over the alum's

Let me see how should I put this... GO with the Kappa's. They have great SQ but should still get plenty loud.

The Audibahns will get louder, but you wil lose a lot of SQ. Plus, it seems like EVERYONE has audiobahn in their cars these days, they might impress the casual onlookers at shows, but those into car audio will have greater respect for the Kappas. What amp(s) are you planing on using?

Pimpcavy: im planning on staying with the JBL 1200.1 amp and i figure i will get all 1200 running to them so about 400 watts to each sub would be about how much they would get and i dont see them blowing off 400 watts...well hopefully!

Your kidding right.... No contest between the two. Now i can recommend a another sub in place of audiobling..i mean audiobahn, Adire audio's Shiva. I'd get a pair if i wasnt attatched to my MB's ------------- I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

The shiva is even more plain looking than the Infinity. I would stay with the Infinities. Flash backs of Audiobahn blowing up is enough to keep me away. Plus if you read back a few pages thier have been a ton of horror stories with audiobahn.

I personally couldnt care less but the person who started this post stated that he liked the audiobahn subs because of the basket and thats one reason why he wanted them. He said the car was for show and hence wants a good looking driver. The shiva is as plain as it gets and hence is not what I would choose for a show car. Sound is the most important thing to me but mabye not to him.

Hey, here's an idea: Get a good set of real SQ speakers and mount them properly in a sealed enclosure, then add a set of bitchin' looking Audiobahn Flame Chrome units on the outside. Bolt them to the enclosure so it looks like you're using inverted drivers, but don't hook them up. That way, you can actually have decent sound quality (something impossible with Audiobahn alone IMO) and also get the "look at my cool stuff" factor that is Audiobahn's claim to fame! ------------- Support the12volt.com

ok yea i was attracted to the Audiobahns because of looks at first...and i also did look at the shivas..having owned a brahma but yea way to plain looking for what i want to do...so then there was the infinitys...which i think is what im going to end up with and yes it is a jbl bp1200.1 amp for who asked thanks ------------- 2007 Acura TSX
