I have a few questions in regard to the removal and install of an aftermarket HU for a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer!  I have the onstar but a NON-Bose system.  I don't really care about the door chimes and i NEVER use the onstar so i do not care if it is disabled.

How difficult is it to add the aftermarket CD player without these concerns.  And, does the whole dash have to be disassembled to get the factory deck out?  ALso, the remote wire for the amp...I am adding subs too... do I use a wire in the ignition or the fuse box?  Which would be easier and safer?  Thanks for any responses!

use Metra's GMOS-01 for your data interface..it will allow you to retain your chimes and OnStar as well as giving you an acc source which can be used to remote on your amp as well......

What about not wanting to have the OnStar hooked up?  I never use it and don't have the subscription.  Is there another adapter to bypass that all together?

why bother.... the regular interface and the OnStar interface are the same price...why not do it properly and just order the right harness?

ALright, i must be missing something, but when i go to the Metra site..I can't find the right part number for the harness?!  Does anyone know the exact one?  Also, is that all you need is one harness... or are there separate bypasses for the onstar and the chimes?  I read somewhere that there were 2 different one?  Thanks for all the replys!
