Ok, ever since we worked on my friends BMW 3 Series, Some guy saw the install and wanted us to do his system.
*This customer is a lover of sony (i advised him to go with fosgate)
any ways he has 4 SUBSwoofers. 2 - 10" sony 2 - 12" sony
and 2 amps. the newer sony amp the 2200gtx 2chan
and hez buying the 801s 2chan from us.*
Now we accpeted to do it for him, only cuz its a honda and we knew every inch of the car... so we thought.
We are not sure what else we need to do the install.
The deck is no problem to us at all. Its how do wire it all so the subs produce massive SPL.
What i listed above ( * ) is all that we have. We are limited amount of money so if you could bare with us and help us on this one again it would much appreciated!
First of all are any of these subs DVC and if so what impedance are they? If they are then 1. wire the two 10" subs for 4 ohms and bridge the sony amp, then wire the 12" subs for 4 ohms alos and bridge the 801 S. Then you will need to buy an electronic crossover so that both sets of subs arn't playing the same frequencies at the same time. I would reccomened something like the
Kicker Kx2 2 way crossover. You could set the lowpass filter at 50 hz or so for the 801S and the 12" subs, and the highpass at the same frequency and use that output for the sony amp (and then set the lowpass crossover on that amp at around 85 to 90 hz or which ever setting matches your subs with the main speakers best).
The 10's are not, But the 12's are DVC having an impedance of 4ohmz.
Is a cap, extra battery needed?

OK you are going to have to wire the 10 inch SVC in series then which will present an 8 ohm load on the 2200gtx. Since those 10 inch subs are barely going to be getting any power at 8 ohms, I would probobly raise the crossover frequency for the 12" subs to around 60 to 65 hz. You shouldn't need an extra battery, but the 801S pushes 800 watts RMS, plus the 250 watts RMS of the Sony amp, is going to be a huge load on the factory alternator if its a honda.
only someone with a honda would mix 10's with 12's and pick sony on top of that. i don't think that it matters much how you wire it up. with the equipment you have to work with, in the end, it will probably sound like poo. but hear me out....
bridge the 2200gtx and split the pos power to each voice coil on the 10's. do the same with the neg. this will bring you down to a 2 ohm load and it will sound a lot better getting the right power. run an 8 gauge cable to this amp.
with the 2 12's being 4 ohms DVC you could wire them down to a 1 ohm load but since your amp is only 2 ohm stable that leaves us with wiring it to 4ohms. bridge the 801S and split the power and ground wire. the pos off of the amp to one voice coil and the neg to the other voice coil. then wire the remaining pos and neg on the two seperate coils togethor. do this to both subs. Use a 4 gauge cable for this connection. Hook up the crossovers as he had said above and it should sound descent.
