02 Honda Odyssey  w/ stock Head Unit

Zapco 100x1 @4ohms into one 12" Image Dynamics IDQ dual 4ohm with approx 1cuft sealed mdf / fiberglass enclosure.         Zapco 75x2 @4ohms into Polk front separates and rearfill

Does the job well.  Might be lacking low end power but this is what I have.  Not sure if the Zapco "doubles" output when it sees the lowered resistance.  I presume to understand the basic concept of the capacitor and its function to the system.

Question:  Will MY system benefit from a cap?  Will I notice the difference?

Now this depends upon if you are talking about a power cap or if you are wanting to regulate the frequency of the woofer.

If you are debating about a power cap I would go with a 1/2f cap.  You can't go wrong by adding a power cap.

If you are talking about frequencys, Set the amps frequency to about what you want and for every day use that sould do ya.  If you want to fine tune it then you will need to add a crossover, either bought or made.

Zapco mono amp has an onboard crossover with adjustable hi/lo xover points.

Looking for expounded advice on whether a POWER cap will provide a noticeable difference for the money and effort given the components for my installation.

I also read somewhere that a good measure for CAP size is = 1F / kW.

If I were to need a cap, I would need something between .1 and .2 microF ??

Appreciate the advice as I am still learning about caps.

A capacitor will always benefit the electrical system of any system wether large or small. You will get smoother bass response and also you will not get the dimming lights when the system is stressed. I for one would go for a 1 farad cap .... you can always use extra capacitance wether you will use it or not.... it's always nice to have extra posted_image
